In the depths of a never-ending winter, cold and hunger drive an indigenous community to capture Hankpa, a baby eagle. Barely has he experienced his first taste of freedom than he is forced to hunt for food for the tribe. He soon finds himself faced with a strange ancestral treaty, which guides him through a wild and extreme adventure, brimming with challenges and responsibilities. The life of the tribe comes to depend on him and the Code of the Eagles.
"Modern fable teaches the value of tradition and responsibility"
“Certainly, we are facing a very captivating book, which treats important issues lightly, such as friendship, loneliness, maturity and strength. It is very easy to identify with Hanpka. Following its growth and changes in positioning makes us reflect on ourselves, our trajectory and how it makes us who we are. ”
“A charming fable about friendship, fidelity and respect, starring the eagle Hankpa, who discovers these values while learning to become a hunter, like all eagles. The author makes us enter the atmosphere of the narrative and feel the same sensations as Hankpa: the wind on the wings, the magnificence of the flights, the thrill of the hunts ... a magical experience and a passionate story. ”
“Through your writing I can see your love for animals and your dedication to the Fables of the Earth! I can only tell you that I look forward to migrating with the bison! ”
"Paola gives us a very beautiful and well-founded story, it is rare to read something like this these days."
“I caught myself several times, after a chapter of The Code of the Eagles, letting out the air when I realized that I didn't breathe or held my tears in any passage.”
